Our Commitment

Caloundra Panthers Australian Rules Football Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for all children and young people involved in our sport.

We have zero tolerance for any form of child abuse, grooming, bullying, harassment, neglect or behaviour that places a child or young person at risk. The safety and wellbeing of children always comes before performance, results or participation outcomes.

Our approach aligns with:

  • Queensland child safety legislation
  • AFL Queensland Policies and Code of Conduct

Child Safety Officer (CSO)

The Club has appointed a Child Safety Officer (CSO) who is the primary point of contact for all child safety and wellbeing matters.

Role of the CSO includes:

  • Receiving and responding to child safety concerns or reports
  • Providing guidance on reporting options and next steps
  • Ensuring concerns are handled confidentially and appropriately
  • Supporting a strong child‑safe culture across the Club

Speaking Up

Anyone can raise a concern – players, parents, caregivers, volunteers, officials or spectators.

You will never be criticised or penalised for raising a genuine concern about safety or wellbeing. All matters are taken seriously and managed in line with our policies and reporting obligations.

Concerns may relate to:

  • Behaviour of an adult or another child
  • Bullying, harassment or inappropriate conduct
  • Safety issues in training, competition, or online environments
  • Anything that makes a child feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

The Club maintains a comprehensive set of child safeguarding, integrity and welfare policies, which apply to all players, coaches, volunteers, officials, parents and spectators while engaged in club activities.

To support understanding and transparency:

  • Plain‑language policy summaries are available for players, parents and team officials

Our Shared Responsibility

Creating a safe sporting environment is a shared responsibility. We ask all members of our community to:

  • Act respectfully and professionally at all times
  • Follow club policies and codes of conduct
  • Support children to speak up if something does not feel right
  • Report concerns promptly
